RV RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS 2005 Reservations: a security deposit of $200 is required at the time of reservation to reserve a RV. Cash, check, M.C., Visa, Discover, Travelers Check or Money Order, are acceptable forms of payment. If by credit card, it will be charged to the card at the time of reservation. If by check, it will be deposited. The damage deposit is due in full at time of pickup. it is completely refundable within 15 days of check in, if the unit is returned clean inside and out, is undamaged, and has no signs of pets (in non-pet friendly units) or smoking. All extra charges, if any, shall be charged separately upon return. Damage deposits are held for any damage done. Renter is responsible for any and all damages and will be charged for parts, labor, freight, and tax. The damage deposit is $500 on pop-ups, $700 on travel trailers, $1000 on class C’s and $2000 on Class A’s, If the damage deposit reduction, or DDR, is purchased the damage deposit required is reduced to $200 on pop-ups, $400 on travel trailers, $500 on Class C’s and $1000 on Class A’s, Payments: All charges are to be paid before departure, including estimated mileage and generator usage. Sorry, no personal checks will be accepted within 2 weeks of departure. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, cash or certified funds will be accepted. All rental fees are subject to 7% VT rental tax. INSURANCE: PROOF OF INSURANCE ON YOUR VEHICLE IS REQUIRED. CANCELLATION POLICY: For all units. UP TO 14 DAYS BEFORE RENTAL, $200 OF THE FULL DAMAGE DEPOSIT WILL BE NON-REFUNDABLE. IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN A 14-DAY STRETCH FROM THE DATE OF DEPARTURE, YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR ENTIRE DEPOSIT. UNAUTHORIZED EXTENSION OF THE RENTAL PERIOD: SHOULD THE UNIT BE KEPT BEYOND THE CONTRACTUAL RENTAL PERIOD, AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF $50.00 FOR EACH DAY OF EXTENSION (OR FRACTION THEREOF), PLUS THE DAILY RATE WILL APPLY FOR EACH DAY THE RV IS KEPT WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. THIS LATE CHARGE IS TO PROTECT YOU FROM THE PROBLEM OF RV's NOT BEING AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL AS SCHEDULED, SHOULD YOU CONTACT OUR OFFICE AND OBTAIN AUTHORIZATION, THEN THE NORMAL DAILY RATE APPLIES. TYPES AND SIZES OF RV's: WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE A SIMILAR OR SUPERIOR RV. SHOULD A MODEL OF LOWER GRADE BE OFFERED AND ACCEPTED, LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO REFUND OF PRICE DIFFERENTIAL BETWEEN MODEL RESERVED AND MODEL TAKEN. PETS: YOU MAY RESERVE A PET FRIENDLY UNIT FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $75 PER UNIT PER TRIP. PETS ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN THESE CERTAIN UNITS. IF YOU HAVE NOT RESERVED A PET FRIENDLY UNIT, ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN YOUR RV. IF A PET IS ALLOWED IN THE RV THAT IS NOT PET FRIENDLY, YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY FORFEIT your entire DAMAGE DEPOSIT. SMOKING: THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IN ANY OF OUR RENTALS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN THE AUTOMATIC FORFEIT OF YOUR ENTIRE DAMAGE DEPOSIT! EXTERIOR STORAGE: SORRY, STORING ITEMS ON VEHICLE ROOF OR EXTERIORS IS NOT PERMITTED. Driving Requirements: Qualified drivers are 25 years of age or older possessing a valid driver’s license. An international driver’s license is acceptable for foreign customers. Customers are responsible for all traffic violations and parking tickets. References and employment are required prior to rental and will be verified. Lesser reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. Insurance & Security Deposit: Our rental motor homes come with Commercial Rental insurance, which provides coverage for you and us. With proof of insurability, you are covered to the state mandated limits for Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability. The rental vehicle is covered for collision, fire and theft with a deductible, which you are responsible for, per incident. You may purchase a Collision Deductible Wavier for $4 per day on pop-ups, $5.00 per day on travel trailers, $9 per day on Class C’s, and $12 per day on Class A’s. The waiver will reduce your responsibility to $200 and lower the required damage deposit from $500 to $200, on pop-ups; it will reduce your liability to $400 and lower your damage deposit from $700 to $400 on travel trailers; it will reduce your liability to $500 and lower your damage deposit from $1000 to $500 on class c’s; and it will reduce your liability to $1000 and lower your damage deposit from $2000 to $1000 on class a’s. Restrictions: Pets (in non-pet friendly units), smoking, travel into Mexico, travel into Canada without prior authorization, driving on beaches, racing, occupancy by more than the stated number of occupants and vehicles in tow are strictly prohibited and may result in loss of security deposit. All State Laws must be strictly followed. Mileage Rates: 250 miles included in each weekend of rental. 550 miles included in each week of rental. 75 additional miles are included per paid additional day, over one week. Miles exceeding the total free miles will be charged $.50/mile for Class C rentals & $0.75/mile for Class A rentals. No mileage charge for pop-ups or travel trailers. Pickup & Returns: ALL PICK-UPS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! All vehicles must be picked up no earlier than 2:00 pm unless prior approval is attained. During very busy times (often late July-early August), we schedule appointments for walk-trough's and paperwork to take place for the hours of 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 4:00 pm, Monday ~ Friday. We also do Saturday pick-up by appointment only. Returns are due before 12:00 noon on the date of return. Rentals are on 24-hour basis, except 1st and last day. There is no refund if the client terminates the contract before the stated date. Allow at least an hour for registration and introduction to the motor home at pickup and a half hour for returns. There are no pickups or returns on Sundays or Holidays. If our customer drop box is used, you remain responsible for the rental until check-in the next business day. Other: We do offer transportation between Mekkelsen RV and hotels, parking lots, airports, etc. We are not responsible for client's personal vehicle left on Mekkelsen RV property. Additional Charges: (If item is requested) bike rack for two or four bikes $25/week, waste tank dumping charge $25/tank, pre-paid cleaning $50 - pop-ups, $69 - Class C motor homes & travel trailers, $75 - Class a motor homes, extra cleaning $89 per hour, $3.50 per gallon gas refill estimated by 1/8th of tank, late returns $50 per hour with 1 hour minimum, $30 re-winterizing fee (Nov. to April), Housekeeping kits: price upon request. Not Included: Bedding, linens, kitchen supplies unless previously arranged. we have a limited number available, please call for reservation. I understand and agree to these Terms and Conditions, in the event I violate any of these terms and conditions I understand that my Security Deposit will be forfeited. I also understand that the information stated on this reservation request is correct and true to the best of my knowledge. |
